Canadian Great Divide Trail Log

Welcome to the archive of my trail journal for my 2016 walk of the Canadian Great Divide Trail.  =This undertaking was shared with my cousin River Taig and his dog Opus. Follow us along this 1200 km adventure through the Canadian Rockies.

(note the journal starts in the middle and goes to the beginning)

First day in Canada

Today I woke up in the percell range, home of the bugaboos.  Drove to Canmore and met up with River and Opus. We organized the food and supplies for the next 2 weeks.  We meet Dustin Lynx, the author of the original gdt guide book. We had a great visit and I'm looking forward to spending a bit more time with him in mid July.  We finally rolled out of Canmore to our next resupply spot which is in a week in Coleman at an air B&b.

Overall a great day.  It rained, snowed and we had a great rainbow.

The day wrapped up Beaver Mine. Tomorrow down to waterton to explore the crypt lake trail.
